I was born at the tail end of the 80s so… I know what a Walkman is. I used to record music I liked from the radio on cassette. CD players were the height of sophistication to me and cell phones were these huge magical things that only businesspeople had. I used to ravenously collect new AOL discs when a new version came out. I remember my first chatroom… and more importantly my first roleplaying session (good ol’ RhyDin). I remember damn near every cartoon, television show, film, ~music special~…. Damn, that really WAS my childhood. The shit I’ve seen and experienced and have been a part of. I know people always romanticize the past, but that was actually such a transformative period. I’m glad I was born when I was and was able to live during that time.
